Days can be spent exploring the natural wonders of the surrounding area, with many breathtaking waterfalls and panoramic view sites on our doorstep and the world Famous Kruger National Park, with its Phabeni Gate located only 20 minutes’ drive away. Unforgettable adventures can also be had nearby at Induna – by quad bike, river raft, zipline or horseback. You may however decide to simply spend your time unwinding at one of our pools and beach area beside the river or trying your hand at fishing and a friendly game of pool. We look forward to welcoming you into our tranquility, serving you sumptuous meals overlooking the river rapids and lighting your campfires, around which you arrive a stranger and leave a friend.

ACTIVITIES ON OFFER

For our adventure seekers, the surrounding area offers many exciting activities. These include Game Drives, River Rafting, Quad Biking, Zip lining, Horse Riding and many more. These can all be arranged for you as an added extra by our staff. Outside of these “paid for” activities, we would like to remind our guests of all the natural wonders that you can immerse yourself in, leaving you with an even deeper appreciation for all that is Africa.

Among these natural wonders are at least 10 magnificent waterfalls to take in along the Panorama Route, many mountain biking trails and of course world famous sites such as The Gorge and God’s Window. All of these truly are bucket list material.

There is also always the opportunity for leisurely walks and animal/bird spotting on our own property. Please get in touch with our front office staff to assist with any information you might need to plan your days.

Lions Rock Rapids The place is breath taking. Very nice place to visit and to get some fresh air. The view is very beautiful. Enjoyed the Break fast and lunch. Camping tents clean and well allocated to the beautiful view of the river.

Close to nature We spent 3 nights here recently in one of the tents in fact tent 1. The tents are literally about 50m from the Sabie River that apparently flows all year. There are numerous rapids that you hear all day and night couldn't be closer to nature . The tent was lovely , spacious and fortunately not to warm even though the outside temps were 30 plus degrees most days. There are a few options in terms of dining , you can choose to eat at the on site dining area next to the river or you could travel a few kilometres down the road to a few restaurants . We chose the breakfast & dinner option. As we went to the Kruger Park every morning and left early we arranged breakfast packs , which were great . Our dinners were also wonderful and the ladies serving us were very friendly & efficient . The food was great on each occasion The guests from the Lodge can also eat at the on site restaurant. There is also a boma fire area for those who wish to have a romantic dinner on the "beach" . The river sand looks like a little beach. You also able to tube if you feel adventurous. We had great sunset views enjoyed from our tent & the bar area which is next to the dining area. Aiden was our main man , opened the gate up early each morning , was friendly as a barman should be and welcomed us as well. Heath & Lynette looked after us on our last evening & everyone was really friendly It takes about 20mins to the Phabeni Gate if you visiting the Kruger & apart from the road to Lions Rock , the rest are in pretty good condition . A suggestion is perhaps some back up power or lights in the tents during loadshedding . This did not impact the dining area & we still had a wonderful experience

Tolle Location Wunderbare Unterkunft mit sehr nettem Personal und Management. Freundlich und zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und gut organisiert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und das Essen war köstlich. Alles war sehr gepflegt und der Ausblick sehr schön. Wären gerne noch geblieben aber die Reise ging weiter.

Great stay en route to Kruger Park Great stay. Such a quiet and tranquil spot on the Sabie River. I would definitely come again! We loved the bond fire on the 'beach'. The staff were excellent and accommodating. Breakfast and Dinner included, great deal.

Wat een plekje! Wat hebben we genoten van jullie mooie plek. Prachtig uitzicht, lieve mensen, kampvuur, op de tubes de stroming af en toen konden de kinderen ook nog even vissen. Natuurlijk waren de vissen ons te slim af, maar leuk was het wel. @ Lynette en haar team, Onwijs bedankt voor dit alles, maar bovenal voor de blije gezichten van onze kinderen toen ze de tenten zagen waarin we sliepen. Geweldig! Groeten van ons.

Amazing stay We had the best time at Lion Rock Rapids. We had many great experiences and loved everybody there! Amazing place with amazing people. Especially Lynette, Heath and Aiden played an important role in making our stay memorable, always helping us with arranging different tours and making sure we weren’t missing anything. They even arranged a special surprise dinner for our honeymoon. Great place!

Beautiful view - very caring staff! We loved our stay at lions rock so much that we extended with one more night. When arriving, view from the terraces and anywhere in the lodge is breathtaking. But most notably, the staff is really caring, going the extra step to make us feel comfortable. Thank you!
