There is an abundance of birdlife at Lion’s Rock, with the fish eagle being one of our favourites. You may spot a hippo at night and we often see some curious mongoose.

All meals are lovingly plated individually with the exception of large groups, where buffet style is necessitated

We have a lovely sandy “beach” area alongside the river where children love to play and you can relax and birdwatch or simply dig your toes into the sand.

The closest gate into the Kruger National Park is a 15 minute drive away.

We strive to cater for all dietary requirements, please advise our friendly staff upon booking of any dietary requirements you may have.

There is a wide array of activities to enjoy in the area namely: Game drives, quad biking, river rafting, elephant interaction experiences, horse riding and massage services. There are also lovely hiking and mountain bike trails to enjoy in the surrounding area. Please enquire about the cost of the activities upon booking and our friendly staff will be happy to assist with the booking of these.

Unfortunately there aren’t any cooking facilities in the rooms (except a microwave). We are a semi self-catering establishment and as such there are braai areas outside each room at the lodge (not at the luxury tents). When staying at the luxury tents, breakfast and dinner is served at the restaurant.

Breakfast is included in the rate for lodge and tent guests and tents package includes dinner as well.
