Lions Rock Rapids Camp
Lions Rock Rapids is situated on the banks of the iconic Sabie River, a quick 10 minute drive from the nearby town of Hazyview and an approximate 4,5hrs drive from Johannesburg. Whilst spending time with us, you can enjoy the prolific birdlife and take a stroll on the grounds. Immerse yourself in the wonder of the river rapids from our beach area and along the river banks or take a relaxing dip in the swimming pool. You may also opt to sit in the comfort of your tents’ covered deck, simply absorbing the magnificent view of the Sabie River Valley.
Situated in the heart of Paradise city, as Mpumalaga is affectionately known, we are ideally situated to explore The Kruger National Park, with its’ Phabeni gate being only a 20 minute drive away. Other nearby attractions can include local restaurants in and around Hazyview, quad biking, river rafting, hot air ballooning, Cultural Village, Panorama Route, God’s window and much more.
Our luxury, air conditioned tents each comfortably accommodate two guests with ample space and feature an en-suite bathroom as well as a lovely covered deck overlooking the Sabie river to relax on. The tents are nestled between the Sabie River and the lush foliage of hundreds of macadamia trees, providing truly exceptional surroundings for an unforgettable experience. When joining us as a family, please enquire upon booking about the availability of an additional bed for younger children, alternatively you are welcome to bring your own camp cot along. Older children can be conveniently accommodated in an adjacent tent. All your delectable meals are served at our restaurant, which is a short walk from the tents and positioned alongside the river. Breakfast and dinner are included for our luxury tent guests and are a real highlight, with specific dietary needs always taken into account (please confirm when booking). Sundowners are enjoyed at our riverside bar where you can unwind, sample some of our famous South African wines or even dance a jig. Come dusk and you will hear the distinct crackle of the nightly campfire from our open air Boma, a favourite spot for guests to sit back and take in the wonder of what we like to call our “Bush Tv”.

- In order to confirm a booking, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required. Full payment of the balance due is required 7 days prior to guests
arrival, unless the booking is made within 30 days of travel dates whereby the full payment is required to confirm the booking. Cancellation policy is as follows: - 45 and 31 days prior to arrival – forfeit deposit

ACTIVITIES ON OFFER
For our adventure seekers, the surrounding area offers many exciting activities. These include Game Drives, River Rafting, Quad Biking, beautiful Elephant interactions, Horse Riding and many more. These can all be arranged for you as an added extra by our staff. Outside of these “paid for” activities, we would like to remind our guests of all the natural wonders that you can immerse yourself in, leaving you with an even deeper appreciation for all that is Africa.
Among these natural wonders are at least 10 magnificent waterfalls to take in, many other exhilarating hiking and mountain biking trails and of course, the world famous “God’s Window”, which really is a must see for your bucket list.
